Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Steven E. Tartaglini has over 35 years experience in executive positions, including those of Chairman, CEO and CFO of financial, insurance services and banking institutions.  Mr. Tartaglini is the founding Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Charles M. Edwards Company, Inc., a national life settlement company that currently operates two divisions: CharlesEdwards, a national life settlement brokerage, and Life Settlement Administrators (LSA), a contracted case processing servicer for other life settlement brokers.  A student of coprorate governance, Mr. Tartaglini has served as Chairman, director and member of private, public, and not-for-profit boards and executive level committees for companies with revenues up to $4 billion.

 

Mr. Tartaglini has been involved in hundreds of transactions with companies both profitable and marginal, public and private, and those ranging from Start-up to Fortune 500.  He has served as an advisor to government leaders, chief executives of companies in the financial, retail, education, technology, professional services, manufacturing, health, and apparel industries, and as a key speaker at national conventions and seminars.

 

Prior to founding CME in 2005, Mr. Tartaglini served in a transitional leadership position for four years as the President of American InterContinental University-Los Angeles, a regionally accredited for-profit university where he increased student enrollments from 860 to over 2,200.  From 1993-2001, he served as the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Newport Group, a professional services firm providing corporate governance, advisory, and executive management services to Fortune 100 and mid-market chief executives and companies in the technology, education, government, non-profit, and financial services industries.  While on engagement, Mr. Tartaglini served for two years as the founding Managing Director of an internationally renowned organization working directly with the Office of the President of the United States, the U.S. Senate, and most major government and national trade associations on business continuity and technology issues affecting businesses and government.  In 1993, Mr. Tartaglini retired his career in the banking industry where, among others, he held the positions of Chairman, President, CEO, and CFO of private and publicly-held institutions for 23 years.

 

Mr. Tartaglini began his career and rose to become a senior financial executive with $40 billion publicly-held Home Savings of America, at that time the largest savings institution in the country.  While at home, he oversaw a total of $2.4 billion in M&A activity and served as Chair of the Asset/Liability Management Committee, Chair of the Liquidity & Investment Committee, and chief strategic and financial planning officer.
